Repairs & Restoration of Antique Clocks
Entrust your treasured timepiece to an expert with decades of experience
We specialise exclusively in the repair and restoration of antique clocks. Each job is considered individually and is accepted at my discretion.
Here's how the process works:
Repair Process
Initial Request
Please send an email to info@clockrestoration.ie with:
- A brief description of the issue
- One or two clear images of the clock (front and side)
Assessment
Once your request is received, we will arrange how to receive the clock:
- You may bring the clock to our workshop directly (address provided after assessment), or
- I can travel to you for a 80 euro callout fee within the Dublin area. Outside Dublin area, callout fee is determined by issuing a quote based on distance required to travel.
Quote & Approval
After inspecting the clock in person, I'll provide you with a detailed repair quote.
If you accept the quote, work begins. If not, the clock is returned and the call-out fee is non-refundable.
- If delivery by courier is used, the client is responsible for the safe delivery of the package
- We discourage the use of courier due to potential risk of damage or loss.
Repair acceptance at the sole discretion of the craftsman. We reserve the right to decline any request based on availability, complexity or clock type.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you repair modern clocks?
No, we specialise exclusively in antique clocks. We do not repair modern or contemporary timepieces.
What if I live outside your travel area?
Unfortunately we only carry out work in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland. For customers outside this area, you would need to bring the clock to our workshop directly.
About ClockRestoration
Welcome to ClockRestoration, Ireland's premier dealer in expertly restored antique and vintage timepieces. Having been a collector of antique clocks for some 40 years and with significant experience in repair and restoration, I am now able to present Antique Clocks for sale.
"An antique clock can be a lovely gift for oneself or a friend if chosen with care to be enjoyed for years and decades and beyond."
The oldest clock in my collection is 300 years old, splendid to view with a beautiful dial, and insists on keeping good time. Each timepiece tells a story of centuries past, crafted by master horologists who dedicated their lives to the art of timekeeping.
Clocks will not be presented for sale unless I am satisfied about the good running order of each movement. Every clock undergoes meticulous inspection and restoration to ensure it will serve its new owner faithfully.
Bespoke Clock Sourcing
If it is unfamiliar territory for you, I would be pleased to receive a commission from any client to procure the kind of clock of their preference whether Bracket, Carriage, Longcase (Grandfather), Wall clock or French Mantel etc.
I would try to find a clock type of your preference on the auction floor (to keep the cost down) with a view to bringing it to my bench to restore and bring it to a splendid condition.
It can be such a joy to have a beautiful clock to view and enjoy for a lifetime and beyond. Great thinkers, horologists and inventors were preoccupied for centuries with the large question of the measurement of time.
"Measure what is measureable and make measureable what is not so"
